Job Details
The Creative Writing Programme offers a series of connected discovery modules, from level one to three. Undergaduate students from across the university choose to take these modules, to broaden their overall degree experience. Students, therefore, come from a wide range of disciplines and, while they will have a particular interest in the discovery module topic, they also bring a range of experiences to the modules. Some will have a clear focus on writing, and will have a regular writing routine in place and others will be at the beginning of this journey.
You will take responsibility for the delivery of the 20 credit module ‘Script Writing’.
The module is for students in the second year of their degree, and it introduces them to script writing for: radio, TV and film, and theatre. You will cover preparation, student support and marking as well as delivery of the module.
You should have outstanding skills in learning and teaching, ideally at Higher Education (HE) level and a practical understanding of the needs of diverse learners.
Experience of script writing and an ability to adapt your knowledge to enable students to write a script for a different medium is essential to the role.
Tutors are appointed on a pro-rata basis of 6.68% of a full-time contract per 20 credit module, subject to the module recruiting sufficient students to be viable. Face to face class time is 2 hours per week. Teaching will take place on Mondays from late September through to December 2017.
