Help Lead and Develop the Practice Improvement Service

A London based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Manager to work across Children's Services with the view of further improving Social Work practice. This is a unique opportunity which is different from your generic Management roles and where you will have the opportunity to inform practice, develop services and really have an impact on the future of Children's services within the Local Authority.

The post is a result of the proactive nature of the Local Authority in preparation for their next Ofsted, which they have defined their targets and so far have managed to come a long way since their previous Ofsted. An example of some of the productive work has been a reduction of agency staff from 60% to below 40%, the reduction of caseloads to below 20 and the implementation of a new IT system.

This post will see you work closely and support the different Heads of Service. Areas of particular focus are the Children in Care group, Corporate Parenting Board and the Adoption Service. You will also be required to carry out Research and Practice to help the Local Authority identify areas of improvement with the view of improving from their last Ofsted. You will also be working with the Commissioning service to ensure policies and strategies are robust and viable.

As the post holder will report directly into the Operational Director the Local Authority is keen to receive application from Group/Service Managers who have extensive experience throughout Children's Services.
