Offer Description * - The position of head of Department-Neuromuscular Unit and workplace of Professor in the scientific area of Medical Sciences, scientific field of neuromuscular disorders on a full-time contract at the Neuromuscular Unit, Mossakowski Medical Research Centre PAS, Warsaw, Poland. The candidate for the position should: - hold PhD degree in biology or medicine, followed by habilitation in the field of medical sciences and possess well documented scientific achievements (candidates with publications in the field of neuromuscular disorders will be preferred). The candidate is expected to develop research profile of the laboratory, propose, prepare and conduct research scientific projects, and to publish his/her results in high-quality journals. Responsibilities will include the preparation of grant proposal(s) and implementation of the project(s), writing peer-reviewed publications. The candidate is expected to conduct medical consultations including genetic counseling for the patients suffering from neuromuscular disorders.

Requirements:

  • PhD and habilitation in medical science, biology or related
  • documented scientific achievements
  • leadership experience in management of research teams
  • experience in gaining funds and leading research projects in biology, medical science, or related
  • indication MMRC PAS as a first place of employment

 
Description of functions under the workplace:

  • to direct of scientific department
  • to consult the patients suffering from neuromuscular disorders
  • to design scientific profile of the department
  • to prepare, supervise and conduct research projects
  • to evaluate data and publish results in peer review journals with significant impact factor
  • to prepare grant applications and report research results.
