The Future Talent Program at Merck features an internship that last 9-12 weeks and will include one or more projects. This opportunity in our Global Medical Information department can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Global Medical Information Intern will participate in a 9-12-week program focused on a typical Global Medical Information Scientist role which may include identifying relevant scientific information to help develop Medical Information deliverables, contributing to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive and accurate standard response documents that are sent to Healthcare Professionals in response to unsolicited requests about our products/disease states, participating in medical/scientific review of promotional materials from internal GHH teams and external partners, and contributing to the development/creation and delivery of medical/scientific training materials. In addition to practical experience, the intern program includes developmental opportunities and exposure to Senior Global Medical Information leadership, and includes a closing project presentation.

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

- Must have completed at least 8 semesters of graduate work towards a PhD degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Biology, Pathology, Health Sciences, or a related major by May 2018; with experience or an interest in Oncology preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

•GPA of 3.5 or higher

•Strong personal character and ethics

•Superior communication and interpersonal skills

•Excellent academic achievement and analytical thinking ability

•Good team player and ability to work independently

•A letter of reference from a professor is highly recommended; you may attach it in the same section of the profile as your resume

•Must be available for full time employment for 9-12 weeks during the months of June-August

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Research knowledge in oncology

• Strong medical writing, communication, and medical/scientific presentation skills

• Passion for science and Merck’s mission to save and improve lives
