Postdoc Fellowship in Nutrition and Cancer

The Laboratory of Nutrition and Cancer of the IB / UNICAMP is selecting a postdoctoral fellowship. The research in progress in our laboratory aims to elucidate the metabolic and molecular effects of the development and establishment of the cachectic state by tumour evolution.
1) Activities
Therefore, the candidate will be involved in developing and studying the biochemical and molecular mechanisms of protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in tumour-bearing host. This study also uses current tools of molecular biology, metabolomics and proteomics assays. This project is also related to maternal and fetal organism, developing organism, and to ageing organism submited to physical exercise, focusing on the muscle, hepatic, foetal and placental tissues in Walker 256 tumour-bearing rats and also in MAC16 tumour-bearing mice, including studies also in vitro.

2) Criteria for registration
a) The candidate must have completed the PhD program less than five (5) years and must be currently engaged in research activity;
b) The scholarship is exclusive for full-time dedication to the research project;
c) The scholarship student must not have employment contract nor can be retired or taking unpaid leave of absence. During the validity of the scholarship, the student will not be able to receive grants from other institutions nor salaries from any working activty;
d) Candidates must have proof of extensive experience in experimentation and manipulation of animals (rats and mice); cell culture; knowledge and practice in biochemical and molecular techniques (PCR, Western Blot, histology, biochemical analyses, etc); and teamwork ability
