Direct Doctorate fellowship in Biomaterials
The project is focused on new implantable polymeric biomaterials, which are absorbable and capable of releasing NO locally for biomedical applications.
The grant includes a monthly stipend of R$ 2,929.80 (around USD 926.00), free of taxes, for up to three years, and ancillary funds for covering research costs such as consumables and participation in conferences related to the project, funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
This position is available within a 5-years Thematic FAPESP-funded research project entitled “Topical and absorbable biomaterials for the local nitric oxide release” and involves collaborations with other research groups from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UNICAMP and the Medicinal Polymer Chemistry Lab at Aarhus University, Denmark. The fellowship allows short and medium term research internships abroad. Our laboratory is well equipped, receives ample FAPESP funding, and offers abundant opportunities for publications and presentations. Our studies are focused on basic and translational research related to biomedical applications of NO-releasing biomaterials.
Qualifications include an undergraduate course in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution, supported by an excellent record of grades.
Candidates should send a motivation letter highlighting previous experiences relevant to the project, a detailed CV and two recommendation letters to Prof. Marcelo G. de Oliveira (email@example.com), until October 30. The postdoc is expected to begin in the first semester of 2018.
