UQ Human Resources is responsible for enabling achievement of the University’s strategic ambitions through attracting, developing and retaining talented, engaged and high performing staff.  This, in turn, enables University staff to better support our current and future students.  Human Resources provides high quality human resource management guidance and expertise, through effective policy development, constructive advice and efficient administrative services.  We are building a team of strategic HR professionals to provide outstanding, client focused, proactive and effective solutions and services for all UQ staff.  

 

The role

The HR Services Officer is accountable for the efficient and effective management and coordination of all HR transaction processing activity undertaken by the Professional Services team to meet the operational and service delivery needs of the client portfolio. As the most experienced and designated ‘super user’ of the HRIS system in their Professional Services team, the HR Services Officer is responsible for approving the delivery of HR transactions processed by HR Services Assistants. This includes providing guidance to troubleshoot any complex transactions or issues emerging during the processing of recruitment, induction, probation, secondments, appointments, immigration, staff leave, special studies programs, performance appraisals, and payroll and remuneration administration. 

The role contributes to the development and implementation of business processes and standard operating procedures to ensure the consistent application of the HR policy framework to key HR transactions and the achievement of high standards of service quality, timeliness and accuracy. The role ensures all HR transactions processed are in compliance with relevant policies and /or external legislative and regulatory controls.

 

The person

Applicants should possess degree qualifications in HR, Business, or a related field with extensive knowledge and ‘super user’ experience working with enterprise HRIS systems. The ability to supervise a team of professionals, including the allocation of work, sructured problem solving approaches, and good judgement to analyse, manage, and resolve a diverse range of HR transactional issues is critical for success in this role.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at  HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597 - $72,348.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $70,734.59 – $79,222.09 p.a.).
