The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia seek candidates for one Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator (CE) track or the non-tenure academic clinician (AC) track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Pediatric Neuropathology. Responsibilities include sharing the clinical service and on-call duties with the existing neuropathology faculty and taking part in teaching of residents and fellows rotating through the division. Pathologists in the CE track are expected to have a strong interest in collaborative research. There are opportunities to collaborate with neurologists and geneticists in the fields of developmental, mitochondrial and metabolic disease, and with neurosurgeons and neuro-oncologists. Teaching and clinical excellence are the major emphasis for pathologists in the AC track and collaborative research is encouraged.
Board eligibility/certification by the American Board in Neuropathology is required. The successful applicant will be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care.
