Job Details

We are now recruiting a PhD student to join a newly funded project to investigate a tRNA modification enzyme on its molecular information, including structure details and biochemical activities. The project offers the opportunity to gain experience in a cutting edge field in RNA modification, which is very important in fundamental science and disease-related biology. It also offers the chance to work in a dynamic, international team working closely with partners including Germany and France. The project will be realized in the Max Planck Laboratory (http://www.mcb.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/mpl) based at the new Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, in the beautiful city of Krakow, Poland

Key responsibilities include:
1. Design and produce proteins with different variants for protein biochemical activities and crystallization and solve protein structure at atomic level
2. Produce RNA for RNA-protein interaction
3. Structural assessment on the protein-RNA complex using crystallography and possibly cryo EM

Required documents:
1. Copy of Masters Certificate
2. At least one letter of support from an academic supervisor
3. Motivation Letter
4. CV (including a list of previous scientific activities)
