We are looking to appoint a full time Laboratory Technician to support a new early phase clinical trial and other clinical trials or research studies with a focus on immunological monitoring. You will have relevant laboratory experience in a responsible role,display a high level of motivation and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team as well as independently.
The post holder will be based in the WISH laboratory, University Hospital Southampton.
You will be required to process a range of patient samples for storage, as well as for fresh or batched analysis within a highly quality controlled system, utilising immunomonitoring techniques. You will be liaising with internal departments and external sites for the management, collection and storage of trial samples. You will be required to comply with meticulous record keeping and database management for all processes undertaken, as well as fully comply with requirements of GCP for laboratories. Training will be provided where necessary. There will be the opportunity to work with other team members carrying out immunomonitoring on clinical trial samples performing flow cytometry, ELISA and ELISpot assays.
You will require a good understanding of the current health and safety regulations and you must undergo occupational health clearance for the job role. You must be willing to undergo vaccination against Hep B for occupational health.
The appointment is full time, fixed-term for 18 months in the first instance and is tenable from 01 October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
