This position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical power systems. An intimate knowledge of electrical switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, emergency generators, variable frequency drives and protective relays. This individual must be familiar with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and NETA. The candidate must be knowledgeable of electrical load flow studies, short circuit studies, electrical coordination and Arc Flash Analysis. The individual must be able to work in an industrial atmosphere.
The individual will:
- Perform design reviews to ensure new installations meet applicable standards
- Inspect completed installations for conformance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate operation and maintenance activities to ensure reliable and optimum utilization of power system facilities
- Direct and supervise electrical power installations and repairs safely up to and including voltages at the 15KV level
- Respond to electrical emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Qualifications
Education:
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Military Experience.
Preferred:
- Experience with electric power systems, short-circuit, protective coordination, load flow, arc flash hazard analysis
- Knowledge of a power system analysis software (PTW from SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, CYME) is mandatory, preferably PTW from SKM
- Experience with electrical design and network architectures, protection knowledge, electrical layout and understand plant / facility processes
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and electrical distribution communication architecture
- Knowledge of instrumentation associated with a cGMP industrial environment
- Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems DCS.
