Computer Support Technician - Break Into I.T - Essex

I am currently representing a market leading Diagnostics company who are looking for an enthusiastic graduate with good skills in IT to join them as a Computer Support Technican/Desktop Support Analyst at their site in Cambridge. This role is on a tempory contract until September 2018, which will give you plenty of exposure to the industry and put your I.T skills to the test in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

You will be working in 1st line support, providing support to users in a variety of XP/Windows 7/Mac OSX environments to both UK and EU based users. You will learn new skills from highly experienced colleagues on your team, and also in different departments such as R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Quality.

This is the perfect opportunity for an I.T graduate to work in a modern, state of the art environment, ensuring the efficient operation of all IT systems, and also giving you a say in the longer-term optimisation of the systems and processes.

Essential requirements:

• Recent graduate in a computer-related A-level or Bachelor degree is preferred.
• Non-graduates will be considered based on provable knowledge of computer systems and personal tuition.
• Candidates should have a desire to develop personal skills and have the ability to source own solutions for technical issues.
• A desire to work in Desktop Support in a fast-paced, corporate, Microsoft Windows / Apple OSX environment.
• Understanding of basic networking protocols and underlying system architecture.
• Effective problem solving and resolution skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to support Apple iPhone's.

Desirable criteria:

• Some working knowledge of Linux based systems.
• Understanding of Remote Desktop Support technologies (Team Viewer, PC Anywhere, Remote Desktop etc.)
• Understanding of Smartphones such as the Apple iPhone.
• Experience of working in a Biotechnology or Scientific environment.
