Provide technical leadership in tasks that include design of experiments (DOE), analysis of data, statistical process control (SPC), simulation, design of sampling plans, multivariate data analysis, data mining and problem solving. Be a key member of teams solving complex manufacturing problems, improving efficiency of processes and developing new processes. Mentor junior staff members. Develop and give training to scientists and management in statistical techniques and methods. Evaluate data for submissions and responses to regulatory agencies and pharmacopoeia.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: MS in Statistics (or equivalent) with minimum of 8 years of relevant applied work experience or minimum of 5 years with PhD.

- Coursework/experience should include industrial statistics (DOE, SPC, regression, general linear models, and multivariate methods).
- Requires demonstrated leadership, ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously with competing priorities.
- Requires demonstrated resourcefulness and the ability to develop and implement innovative and new concepts/ideas.
- Superior oral and written communication skills to convey statistical concepts and analyses to non-statisticians.
- Excellent statistical computing skills in packages such as R, SAS, JMP and Minitab.
Preferred:
- Additional experience in Engineering, Chemistry and Six Sigma is considered a plus.
Your role at Merck is integral to helping the world meet new breakthroughs that affect generations to come, and we’re counting on your skills and inventiveness to help make meaningful contributions to global medical advancement. At Merck, we’re inventing for life.
