Job Details

RECOVER Injury Research Centre is a joint initiative of the University of Queensland and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission.  The Centre focuses on generating new knowledge and interventions to address the burden of injury and disability following motor vehicle accidents through three core research programs: Health Services Research (Telerehabilitation); Psychosocial (Return to Work) Research; and Clinical sciences/interventions (Whiplash) Research. These positions will be located in the first two research programs.

 

The role

The successful appointee will conduct and manage research in the development and evaluation of telerehabilitation applications for service delivery, or in facilitating return to pre-injury functioning, following motor vehicle accidents. They will undertake statistical analyses, interpret findings and take the lead in preparing publications and reports. They will develop and write funding applications, manage external competitive research grant applications and funds, and contribute as a chief investigator on collaborations within, and external to RECOVER.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant area with an established/developing record of achievement in independent research. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to provide leadership and post graduate student supervision; demonstrated skills in conducting statistical analysis of research/ clinical data, designing research studies, and applying for external research funding.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

Remuneration

These are full-time, fixed-term appointments until 31 August 2019 at Academic Research Level A or B, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.  The remuneration package of an Academic Research Level A appointment will be in the range of $64,533 - $87,535 p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $75,504 - $102,416 p.a.).  The remuneration package of an Academic Research Level B appointment will be in the range of $92,142 - $109,419 p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
