This position will contribute to the research program of The Centre for Coal Seam Gas (CCSG) at the University of Queensland. The Centre is a research and postgraduate education organisation, located at St Lucia in Brisbane on the main University of Queensland campus.  It was established in 2011 to address research issues related to the development of the coal seam gas industry. 

The mission of the CCSG is to deliver world-class, stakeholder-focussed research, education, and technical services for the benefit of industry, government, and the wider community.  The Centre features professorial appointments addressing extraction of coal seam gas, geosciences, water use and impacts, and social performance. 

The CCSG is a Faculty Centre located in the University’s Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology Faculty (EAIT).

The role

The successful appointee will work on a CCSG funded research project to provide a better understanding of methane transport in the subsurface . To assist  and consult with researchers from various UQ schools and faculties, and technical experts in the Government and Gas Industry as required.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines. You should also have a detailed knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of Hydrochemistry, Gas chemistry, and hydrogeology, experienced in designing  and conducting research and collating, analysing and interpreting research data, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Research Academic Level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,143 - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
