Job Details

My client is a global speciality chemical and is looking to get in a whole new market segment and is, therefore, looking for a senior manager or director who will put up a whole new segment for the company. The company itself focuses themselves on the manufacturing of speciality chemicals and they are proud to have a multinational environment where the employee stand first.

The objective of the Global Segment Leader Aerospace is to define, align on and execution of the global aerospace strategy for profitable growth in the assigned markets.

In Addition, the successful candidate will develop and drive implementation of a regional market strategy for Composites outside wind, Aero and automotive in the EMEA region in coordination with the Global segment leader composites and the regional composites segment leads in the US and Asia.

Functions:

Strategy Development and execution Aerospace:

- Executes existing Aerospace strategy with focus on Building blocks, downstream (Infusion) applications, interior and General Aviation

- Ensures organizational development and alignment to position Hexion for the segment and drives all team-related activities/project execution

- Ensures good visibility of current and future aerospace programs and their position in the value chain, resp. accessibility for Hexion with its offerings

- Drives relationship building and co-development with external parties, such as OEM, Tier1 and industry partners.

Market Development:

- Responsibility for Global Aerospace and EMEA composites Market Plans, which includes defining the respective market strategies for the Composite segments outside Wind and Automotive.

- Interact with Regional Segment Leaders to address globally relevant themes in regional strategic aspects

- Define, drive / prepare and execute regional Market Communication plans (Trade shows, Market communication, Conferences, White papers, etc)

- Implementation of the Composites Segment Market Plan in EMEA and Aerospace globally, support implementation on a global basis with the regional counterparts

- Coordinate market and product positioning with regional Business Managers and assure global alignment.

- Quantify the size and growth rate of the market by region/country and the size and growth rate of epoxy in the market.

- Understanding and documenting the value chains of the individual market segments, i.e., the leverage of suppliers/customers/materials in the market

- Determining the key wants and needs of the market segments and understanding where Hexion is positioned on these relative to our competitors.

- Understand/communicate the drivers and trends in targeted market segments and identify opportunities.

- Address, quantify and prioritize market opportunities and threats.

- Responsible to achieve growth targets in the team effort with regional Business Managers, Technical Marketing Specialists, Product Management, R&D, Business Finance and Sales.

Business Development:

- Defines approval needs and ensures proper project management that drives timely achievement of such key projects in our matrix environment

- Defines sales targets in coordination with regional sales and TS leads

- Administrate /drive T&O Execution with Sales / Tec Marketing / Tec Service.

- Nominate, justify, sponsor and prioritize R&D product and application development projects. Work with R&D /Technical Marketing to keep the projects in phase with the marketing/sales efforts.

- Price, position, commercialize and promote new developmental products.

- Supervise / Ensure/support complete product launch package for sponsored developments.

Market Intelligence:

- Provide timely and accurate information about the market and related downstream industries, competition, potential Acquisition candidates and their activities.

Technical Training and Development:

- Identify necessary areas of technical training and remain up to date with new products and applications and continue to improve skills and technical knowledge.

- Be contact for new hires for internal training on products/application / Market specifics

Achieve Business Results

- Technical or Commercial Master degree

- Five years experience in product or business development in the aerospace and composites industry.

- Profound understanding of Epoxy related chemistry in the Aerospace segment

- Experience with SAP, Excel spreadsheet and pivot tables.

- Strong organizational and analytical competency

- Ability to network and form key relationships

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills
