The University Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC) is recruiting a tenure eligible investigator in the field of Cognitive psychology, specifically in the laboratory of Psychology (http://psychologie.univ-fcomte.fr/pages/fr/menu268/laboratoire-de-psychologie-ea-3188/presentation-du-labo-14151.html) located in Besançon (France). This position is supported by the French “Investissements d’Avenir” program, project ISITE-BFC.
 
We encourage applications of outstanding scientists investigating this field of research owning a PhD degree, featuring at least three years of postdoctoral experience; a substantive record of publications and the potential to develop an independent research program.
 
The successful applicant will be provided a 450 k€ grant (including her/his salary and research budget) for a period of three years. The salary will be negotiated on the basis of education and experience. It integrates a benefit package including retirement, health insurance, annual and sick leave.
 
UBFC (www.ubfc.fr) is a research university federating six organizations. The tenure eligible position will be provided by Université of Franche-Comté, member of the UBFC federation, during the tenure probation period. During the same period, the successful candidate will be committed to apply for an European Research Council (ERC) grant.

Job description:
 
About the hosting research team
Within the Laboratory of Psychology in Besançon, the hosting team, featuring six Faculty members among which two are Fellows of the “Institut Universitaire de France”, is working on cognitive, developmental and aging processes. Facilities include several experimental booths as well as an easy access to pools of participants.
 

Targeted profile
 

The candidate should be able to conduct cutting-edge research in the area of cognitive psychology.  Research should aim at understanding cognitive processes such as those involved when learning, perceiving, attending, and remembering.

The candidate should have the ability to develop techniques and methods relevant to behavioral approaches, as well as skills in programming and in using one or many techniques relevant to behavioral, computational, and/or physiological approaches. Interest in one of the two transversal areas of the Laboratory of Psychology, namely health and education will be appreciated.
 
In the perspective of the possible tenure position, the candidate should demonstrate a very high interest in contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching and training on research methods, statistics, and cognitive psychology. She/he is also expected to mentor and supervise master and PhD student works.
