Work for a London Based LA which is Implementing the Mockingbird Project

A London based Local Authority which I work has been selected as part of a programme to extend the Mockingbird Project, which aims to provide a more positive experience of Care for Service Users. Based on a model developed in USA the Mockingbird project aims to provide a local and established network of foster and kinship carers for Service users.

To help support the project there is a need for 2 additional Fostering Social Workers who will have the opportunity to work from home whilst supporting and developing Foster Carers in the region. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an innovative Authority which has a very stable Fostering service with 80% of team members having worked in the service for more than 5 years. The reason for the stability is really due to the flexible working arrangements and workloads which ultimately mean Social Workers in the team benefit from a very healthy work life balance.

To be considered for this post you should have experience within a Fostering team whether this is an independent or statutory organisation.
