Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Trainee Cancer Registry Coder.

Responsibilities

Health Information Management Services at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has the state-of-art modern facility and operations in line with internationally accepted practice standards. 

Trainee Cancer Registry Coder programme at AKUH is unique in a sense that it equip fresh Physiology graduates for initiating and establishing their careers in cancer registry coding. This traineeship programme offers didactics and hands on experience in the following areas:

• Review, abstract and enter information in cancer registry software including all demographic information, staging, procedures and treatment as per registry data standards

• Capture a complete summary of the patient’s history, diagnosis, treatment and status of cancer patients in accordance with guidelines issued by the Commission of Cancer (CoC) and the North American Association for Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) 

• Compiling specific data and accurate coding of cancer cases.  

Requirements

An ideal candidate must have:

• Masters' degree in Physiology

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in computer application and software.
