Job Opportunity
The Field Service Engineer will provide direct support to Delta and Perten Instruments customers. The Field Service Engineer helps customers enhance the productivity of their laboratory processes and drives high levels of customer satisfaction by performing routine maintenance, repairs, validations and training on a variety of instrumentation. The Field Service engineer represents the face of PerkinElmer to the customer and fosters business expansion by providing ‘best-in-class’ responsiveness and professionalism in all customer interactions. This also includes key account expansion, sale of new maintenance agreements, training, upgrades and provide instrument sales leads.

Our Team
Our Perten and Delta products are advanced analytical instruments for quality control of food, grain, flour, dairy and feed. To help meet the growing needs of farmers, food manufacturers, and consumers our team has been busy building on its expertise and specialized testing equipment for the food and dairy industry. This analyst will join our field support team, traveling to client facilities and performing specialized analyses in our Springfield, IL office. The preferred location for FSE is Salt Lake City, UT. But, there are numerous cities in the Western US region that are satisfactory.

How you will contribute
  • Provide direct technical support to Delta Instruments customers within the specified region. The Engineer will be first call option for the customers. This duty may require Engineer to be on call for weekends or holidays.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on either Delta or Perten Instruments equipment within the region. The Field Service Engineer will be required to firm up schedule with customers, confirm all prerequisites are in place, and complete the work.
  • Complete installs for either Delta or Perten Instruments equipment. The Springfield, IL office will coordinate this activity with the Field Service Engineer. The install will consist of setting up the instrument with appropriate calibrations, qualifying the instrument, and training the customer. This duty will also require site surveys before installation when required.
  • Complete repairs for Delta Instruments on location. This will need to be managed by the Field Service Engineer. Other Field Service Engineers or Service Technicians may be called on to manage these commitments.
  • Due to complexity of instrument integration into customer’s networks, this Field Service Engineer will be required to have knowledge of communication and security protocols to work with customer’s systems.
  • Provide assistance with Application Support on all equipment.

Experience
  • Knowledge of network and security protocols is desirable
  • Technical (mechanical or electronic) degree is preferred, with food application knowledge desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness for 50% overnight travel
