LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER (ONE POST)

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

 

Lecturer:

  • Teaching and research, as well as supervising final year projects;

  • The supervision of students at honours level and the co-supervision of master’s students;

  • Performing academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department;

  • Participating in the Department’s strategic initiatives to teaching, research and community engagement.

 

Senior Lecturer:       

  • Teaching and research, as well as supervising final year projects;

  • The supervision of postgraduate students;

  • Performing academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department;

  • Participating in the Department’s strategic initiatives to teaching, research and community engagement.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Lecturer:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification;

  • Proven ability to conduct and publish research.

Senior Lecturer:

  • Doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification;

  • A proven record of research experience supported by publications.

 

Added Advantages and Preferences:

 

Lecturer:

  • Appropriate tertiary teaching experience at undergraduate level.

 

Senior Lecturer:

  • Appropriate tertiary teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

Preference will be given to the candidate with the specialisation in Business Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering and Supply Chain Design, and/or Engineering Economics. 

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
