Job Details
This project is to continue research in spintronics, in particular the thermal and spin transport properties of lateral spin valves. The specific aim of the project is to separate the thermally generated from the spin current generated non-local signals as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. You will be required to fabricate lateral spin valves using the method of shadow deposition and characterise them down to mK temperatures and in large magnetic fields.
You will have a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics (or a closely allied discipline) or have submitted your PhD thesis before taking up the post. You will have experience of fabricating lateral spin valves and a developing track record of peer reviewed publications in international journals.
