Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science is one of the largest and most diverse Faculties within The University of Queensland and across Australia. The Faculty of Science incorporates six schools and four research centres. The disciplines within the Faculty of Science are internationally recognised for their teaching and research success which creates a stimulating environment within which to work. The Faculty is lead by the Executive Dean who has direct responsibility for the physical, financial, human resources, academic matters relating to programs and students and a range of other areas such as the development of research, national and international marekting, and enhanced govenrment, business and community links.
The role
The Manager, International is responsible for the Faculty's international activities for student recruitment and global engagement. The position plays a key role in establishing and strengthening partnerships with international institutions in key markets, including China, SE Asia, and India, to support recruitment of international students and student mobility in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The position is accountable for the development and ongoing management of new international articulation arrangements a large number of which are in China. The appointee will lead a team of staff who undertake marketing, recruitment, and international student-related activities. The position is based at the St Lucia campus, however travel to the UQ Gatton campus, Brisbane CBD, and to priority countries will be an essential part of the role. The person
Applicants should possess postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, underpinned by extensive experience in planning, implementing and evaluating international programs and events. A strong understanding and experience in developing and maintaining partnerships is essential. An understanding of the China education market is essential and it would be an advantage to speak Chinese. You should possess excellent leadership and staff management skills, time-management and organisational skills, and have a pro-active approach to identifying and developing new initiatives and opportunities. Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed-term 13 month appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 - $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $108,589 - $121,930 p.a.).
