UQ Biological Resources

The University of Queensland Biological Resources Unit (UQBR) manages the laboratory animal production and research facilities for the University of Queensland.

The role of UQBR is to provide UQ with world class Animal Research services within a best practice ethical framework.

 

The role

The role involves management of all infrastructure and operational activities of the UQBR/AIBN Animal Facility. This facility occupies all of level 6 of The Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nano-technology (AIBN), including PC2, PC3, AA5.1, AA5.3 and AA7.6 holdings. The manager will also have a broader role to facilitate research using animals at UQ and to assist in further development of UQBR as a world class service provider.

 

The person

Applicants must possess qualifications in relevant disciplines. You must also have considerable experience in managing rodent production units to proscribed health status and expert knowledge in managing and breeding GM animals. A high level of human, physical and financial resource management skills is essential.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 - $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $108,589 - $121,930 p.a.).
