The UQ Medical Program

The Faculty of Medicine is a leading provider of medical education in Queensland, with the country’s largest medical degree program. Its MD program includes graduate entry and school-leaver entry streams, and is an integrated, case-based/problem based learning program. The first phase of the program (years 1 and 2) is delivered by a combination of biomedical scientists and clinicians, predominantly at the St. Lucia campus but also at affiliated major teaching hospitals. Phase 2 is a clinical immersion phase (years 3 and 4) delivered at a range of hospitals and other clinical sites in Brisbane, across Queensland and in Louisiana. The phase is intended to prepare students for internship and residency, and covers the academic disciplines of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, General Practice, Medical Ethics, Law and Professional Practice, Medical Imaging, Medicine, Molecular and Cellular Pathology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Child Health, Psychiatry, Rural Medicine, and Surgery.

 

The role

The Faculty Development Lead (MD/MBBS Program) will work with the Director of the Office of Medical Education to develop and implement the Faculty of Medicine’s MD Program Faculty Development Strategy. The Strategy will support Academic staff within the MD Program to meet UQ, Australian Medical Council (AMC) and Higher Education standards and requirements to ensure a world class MD Program. 

 

The person

Applicants should possess an Undergraduate qualification in a discipline relevant to the role. You will be proficient in the development and management of faculty development programs, including the development of relevant teaching and learning resources. You will also have demonstrated teaching skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and in clinic-based medical teaching.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at Academic level C or D. The remuneration package will be in the ranges

  • Level C will be in the range $112,874.46 - $130,150.91 p.a., (total package will be in the range $132,063.12 - $152,276.56 p.a.);
  • Level D will be in the range $135,909.73 - $149,731.41 p.a., (total package will be in the range $159,014.38 - $175,185.75 p.a.).

Eligible applicants maybe also receive payment of a clinical loading.
