    The Division of Academic and Student Engagement drives the achievement of the University's strategic goals in relation to learning and teaching. This includes ensuring that students have a quality experience and investing in the ongoing professional development of academic staff.

    The Division is comprised of five key portfolio areas led by: the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning); Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Dean, Indigenous Research and Education Strategy; University Librarian and the Executive Director, Division of Academic and Student Engagement.

    The Indigenous Education portfolio area provides strategic leadership for the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and perspectives, the promotion of teaching and research in Indigenous studies, the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, and engagement with Indigenous communities.

     

    In the role at Wirltu Yarlu Aboriginal Education the Level A academic would:

    • Take direction from the Dean, IRES  to ensure the successful delivery of UPP and Indigenous Knowledges program and outcomes.

    • Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and/or studio sessions in person, via digital medium and/or in an on-line environment.

    • Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars to the Wirltu Yarlu student cohort and broader University of Adelaide UPP.

    • In partnership with the support team, provide student support in relation to materials, assignments, library skills and research skills.

     

    Salary:

    (Level A) $65,894.00 - $89,425.00 per annum.

     

    Superannuation:

    An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.

     

    Term of position:

    This fixed-term contract is available immediately until 21 December 2018.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Evidence of teaching ability in the tertiary and/or higher education sector and a commitment to excellence in education.
    • Capacity to conduct lectures, tutorials, workshops, assessment and one-on-one work along with field excursions as well as conduct teaching and support of students within the University’s on-line and digital media environment.
    • Commitment to curriculum design including online and innovative materials development.
    • Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team and assist in the conduct of research and provision of Cultural Competency workshops as required.
    • Must hold at the minimum a master’s degree relevant to the area of Indigenous education. and a commitment to promote Wirltu Yarlu in the Aboriginal community.
