Vice Provost of Research and Extension

The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) seeks a Vice Provost of Research and Extension, to provide leadership and vision to county-based Cooperative Extension (UCCE) and 9 Research and Extension Centers (REC).

This senior programmatic leadership position will:

  • Work with both groups of talented unit directors to set future direction for the units;
  • Provide strategies and approaches in developing county-based and regional support for programs and facilities;
  • Identify gaps in meeting priority needs, and secure resources;
  • Ensure consistency in implementation of UC policy and practices.
  • Demonstrate leadership toward Affirmative Action within CE and promoting a culture of acceptance;
  • Be a key member of a combined leadership team, including the Vice Provost of Strategic Initiatives and Statewide Programs, Vice Provost of Academic Personnel & Development, and the Associate Vice President; and
  • Be supported by two, partial appointment, Assistant Vice Provost positions.
