    The Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. It is a centre for learning, teaching and research in a vast range of engineering disciplines, computer science and high level mathematics.     The School of Chemical Engineering, teaching and research programs educate chemical engineers to play leading roles in the chemical, biochemical, environmental, food technology, energy and combustion and materials industries. Dedicated to achieving excellence in research, teaching and knowledge transfer, the school offers a stimulating and intellectual environment in which to work.

     

    This role includes synthesizing nanomaterials with well-defined structures, conduct various characterization, design and fabricate batteries, and conduct test for battery performance.

     

    Salary:

    (Level A with PhD) $83,307 to $89,425 per annum.

     

    Superannuation:

    An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.

     

    Term of position:

    This fixed-term contract is available immediately for up to two years; latest start date is 1 June 2018.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related field
    • Expertise in laboratory studies of battery design and test
    • Experience in synthesizing nanomaterials with well-defined structures
    • Knowledge of electrochemistry with applications to nanomaterials
    • Good written (e.g. technical reports and scientific journal publications) and oral communication skills (e.g. seminars and conference presentations)
    • Strong evidence of ability to undertake, complete and write-up scientific research (e.g. scientific journal publications)
