This is an exciting new opportunity for someone with vision and strong leadership skills, who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and who has a genuine interest in, and knowledge of education. The candidate will have an outstanding research record to complement and enhance our current activities. With over 30 research groups in the School, and close relationships with other Schools within the University, there are extensive opportunities for collaboration within a world-class infrastructure. Further restructuring will lead, in summer 2018, to the formation of a Faculty of Life Sciences comprising the Schools of Biochemistry; Cellular and Molecular Medicine; Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology; and Biological Sciences. The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences will cease to exist once the Faculty of Life Sciences is in place.

The successful candidate is expected to enhance research in one or more of the School’s research areas in cardiovascular science and cell signaling, and neuroscience.  They will also contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate research students, both within the School and across the Faculty of Life Sciences, including teaching on the UoB professional medical, veterinary and dental degree programmes. The University of Bristol is committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all sections of the academic community.

Applications should be received by 12:00 pm (i.e. midnight) on 10th December 2017.
