This post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced social scientist, with a strong interest and experience in qualitative research to have a major role in a National Institute for Health Research’s (NIHR), School of Public Health Research funded project investigating how we can work with academy schools to improve children’s health by conducting elite interviews with senior staff working in academy chains. This post may also involve working on public health studies largely concerned with children and young people’s health but may also include mental health research and research on places and communities, as part of the University of Bristol’s contribution to the NIHR SPHR.

 

The post is based in the Department of Population Health Sciences in the Bristol Medical School at the University of Bristol, and will involve deploying a range of research skills including systematically reviewing literature, undertaking data collection via in depth interviews, data analysis, reporting and disseminating results, and; related administrative tasks necessary for the successful completion of studies. The Senior Research Associate will be line managed by the Principal Investigator Professor Rona Campbell and will work with Professor Russ Jago who is Professor of Paediatric Physical Activity & Public Health and Head of the Centre for Exercise, Nutrition & Health Sciences, within the School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol.
