The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences is Australia’s most diversified agriculture research and teaching School, comprising research and teaching experts in agribusiness and the science disciplines of animals and wildlife, plants and soil sciences, food and nutrition science. Located at St Lucia and Gatton, the School is a large and dynamic multidisciplinary hub focused on applied research and teaching within the Faculty of Science committed to finding innovative and technology focused solutions to global challenges.  The School offers a range of undergraduate postgraduate coursework and research degrees encompassing agriculture and related disciplines ranging from Bachelor Degree to Doctorate.

With a diverse group of internationally regarded scientists, the School hosts six research concentrations, of which three are aligned with the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation– a joint initiative between The University of Queensland and the Queensland State Government. Quality laboratories and facilities and strong partnerships with industry, community and government bodies, provide an environment that enables world class research and research training in a collaborative and cooperative spirit for postgraduate students and researchers.

The Role

Applications are invited from motivated, energetic individuals with a record of high quality teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate biometry courses to actively contribute to the development of course content and to undertake teaching, research and engagement activities.

The successful appointee will contribute substantially to national and international research and supervise research students, establish a research program and obtain external grant funding independently and collaboratively with research teams within the School.

The Person

To be successful in this position you will possess qualifications in a relevant area of biometrics, such as theoretical or applied statistics in areas relevant to agriculture and food sciences.

You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career aligned with the School's research themes, the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams, outstanding communication and engagement skills, and the ability to work effectively in teaching teams and actively contribute to the curriculum.

Remuneration

This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level B or C.  

The remuneration for Academic Level B will be in the range $92,142.74 - $109,419.20 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $107,807.01 - $128,020.46 p.a.). 

The remuneration for Academic Level C will be in the range $112,874.46 - $130,150.91 p.a. plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $132,063.12 - $152,276.56 p.a.)
