Part Time Attorney

Summary: PerkinElmer, Inc. is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours per week) attorney to work within its legal department. This attorney will serve as counsel to PerkinElmer’s corporate IT and Discovery Analytical Solutions (“DAS”) business on a range of legal issues. A primary area of responsibility will be negotiating, drafting, and participating in various technology and commercial transactions for PerkinElmer’s corporate IT department and DAS business division. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including without limitation, SaaS subscription, cloud computing, confidentiality, material transfer, professional services, and general purchase agreements.
• Assist with the development and negotiation of scopes of work (SOWs), change orders and other contractual documents for IT sourcing and procurement initiatives.
• Develop relationships with IT managers and business units to support enterprise objectives and influence key stakeholders.

• Create, improve and/or update form agreements and processes to improve aspects of contracting procedures as well as to ensure consistency of contract terms with PerkinElmer policies and standards.
• Monitor changes in applicable laws (including employment laws); prepare updates and communicate with relevant colleagues to keep them abreast of these developments; assist with implementing necessary changes in policies or business processes to comply with changes in laws and/or best practices.
• Additional legal counseling and contract drafting and negotiation responsibilities as knowledge of the DAS business and skills evolve.
• Assist other DAS lawyers with general corporate work, as needed.
