Duties and responsibilities:
Inherent requirements:
- Degree in Library and Information Science (B.bibl, Blnf) or Degree plus Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science.
- Five (5) years' relevant experience.
- LIASA membership (please attach the membership certificate).
Required competencies:
- Knowledge of the academic world and the South African higher education drivers.
- Knowledge of Library and Information Science as a profession.
- Knowledge of report writing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Written and oral communication proficiency in the official administrative language of the institution.
- Training skills.
- Presentation skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Innovative/creative problem solving skills.
- Organisational and planning skills.
- Client service orientation.
- Willingness to work outside working hours.
- Values and principles driven (Integrity, respect, punctuality, commitment, tolerance, accountability).
Recommendations:
- Five (5) years’ relevant experience in academics library setting.
