DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS
LECTURER
In pursuit of the ideals of excellence and diversity, the University of Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the following vacancy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be required to:
- Present undergraduate and honours level lectures and practicals in Physics;
- Develop research programmes in Physics which will complement the current research focus of the Department;
- Supervise postgraduate students;
- Obtain grant funding.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A PhD-degree in Physics;
- Experience of undergraduate lecturing/tutoring;
- Documented proof of own research outputs in Physics.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Experience in Physics research;
- Appropriate language and communication skills, both written and verbal.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Post-doctoral experience.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
