Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont

 

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, in affiliation with our university hospital, the University of Vermont Medical Center, seeks a pathologist with expertise in Cytopathology and Surgical Pathology for a full-time faculty position on the Clinical Scholar Pathway (non-tenure) at any professorial rank.  Strong diagnostic skills with fellowship training and experience in Cytopathology, including FNA experience, and an area of Surgical Pathology are preferred.  Autopsy Service coverage also will be part of this position. Strong interest and evidence of experience in medical student, resident and/or fellow education is essential. The applicant should have evidence of academic productivity and will be expected to pursue scholarly activities and/or clinical, translational or collaborative research. The applicant must be Board eligible/certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology.  Cytopathology volumes at the University of Vermont Medical Center are 28,000 gyn accessions and 6,300 non-gyn accessions, of which 2100 are FNA samples with an active FNA service.  Approximately 43,000 surgical pathology specimens are accessioned per year.  The department also has an ACGME-accredited Cytopathology Fellowship and a Pathology Student Fellowship Program.
