Job Details
The conduct of the study will involve supporting the implementation, in 150 GP practices, of the trial clinical decision rule as a software add-on to the primary care medical information system, and facilitating the collection of prescribing data outputs from 15 Clinical Commissioning Groups.
The CHICO RCT is led by Dr Pete Blair, Reader in Medical Statistics in the University of Bristol’s new Medical School. The CHICO RCT is one of a number of NIHR funded studies within the CAPC Infection Group (led by Professor Alastair Hay, GP and Professor of Primary Care) driven by the pressing public health need to reduce pressure on antibiotic prescribing. The successful candidate will be part of a team, supporting the management of these CAPC Infection studies.
The successful candidate will have the skills to manage both the ‘detailed’ and ‘big picture’ elements of a RCT and will oversee the implementation of all data capture and management systems. Additionally, ensuring adherence by participating organisations to the study protocol, and ensure the trial is conducted and reported to the highest possible scientific and operational standards.
The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the Chief Investigator, the BRTC Senior Trial Manager, and the Trial Management Group. The post holder will have autonomy and freedom to act independently within organisational policies, and will need to take a high level of responsibility.
Informal enquiries:
