Good Local Authority with Low Caseloads & Duty every 4th Week

A London based Local Authority is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment & Protection service which is a largely stable team. The reason for the vacancy is a result of a member of staff achieving a promotion and therefore leaving the service.

The team is led by a Team Manager who is a permanent member of the team and has been in post for more than a few years. The manager manages the caseload really well and currently the average caseload amongst the team is around 18, with duty being held every 4th week Social Workers have ample time to clear off their caseloads before being allocated a new batch. Furthermore the Team Manager will make effective use of locums if cases increase beyond this point.

Over the last 2 years the Local Authority has successfully gone through a period of change which has seen performance of Children's services increase substantially; the Local Authority is 1 of a very few in the country which hasn't made any budget cuts to its Social Care budget in the last 2 years. The Local Authority also use the Systemic Practice model which you will receive training on when you join the Local Authority.

Working in a team of 5 (including 1 Senior Practitioner) you will receive regular supervision as the Team Manager will have to conduct supervision just over once per weekly ensuring that they have enough time to spend time and discuss cases with their staff. You will also have access to a training budget which you are able to use to attend courses which contribute to your CPD.

To be considered for this post you should have post qualifying experience working within an Assessment or MASH team.
