The Role

We are currently seeking a full-time Lecturer (Academic Level B, Teaching and Research) – Early Career Academic to work within the sustainability discipline area in the UQ Business School. Through this appointment, the UQ Business School is seeking to support early career academics to establish a competitive profile. In this position you will undertake high quality research, engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, lead and develop teaching activities and perform administrative and other activities associated with the School.

 

The Person

Early Career Academic (ECA) appointments are open to persons currently employed as academic staff on a casual or fixed-term basis within an Australian University.
The appointee must be:

Currently employed by an Australian university and have submitted or been awarded a PhD and have either:

  • performed casual teaching work in four semesters or equivalent teaching periods over at least three years, preceding their application; or
  • been employed in a fixed term postdoctoral research fellowship, fixed-term research, replacement or subsidiary to studentship position in the two years preceding their application.

 

Persons who have previously held a continuing academic appointment at any university are ineligible to apply. The successful applicant will require demonstrated expert knowledge in the areas of business policy and strategy, and management.

Experience with teaching and coordination of courses with large student numbers (e.g. 1,000 to 1,500 students), as well as the demonstrated ability to use current teaching techniques, especially flipped classroom approaches, will be highly regarded.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time, 2 year fixed-term, teaching focussed academic appointment at Lecturer Level B and is expected to commence in January 2018. The remuneration package will be in the range of $92,142 - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
