The role

The successful appointee will be responsible for conducting original research within the general scope of computer vision and pattern recognition. The appointee will have access to relevant equipment including microscopes and GPU farms for deep learning experimentation and there are opportunities to work with Professor Lovell and his group who have several ARC and industry funded projects in computer vision and pattern recognition. The appointee will also assist with RHD supervision and will be expected to publish tier 1 papers in CVPR, ICCV and ECCV as well as having the ability to work with industry and research collaborators.

 

The person

You should have a PhD in the area of Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline. Demonstrated expert knowledge in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, strong skills in computer programming including MATLAB, Pyton, C++ and the ability to  effectively supervise research higher degree students is essential. Knowledge of Deep Learning Techniques is highly desirable.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at Research Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,142 - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
