Job Details
The provision of digital learning is a core service provided by the University. With a dedicated team of more than 35 professionals, all experts in the fields of learning design and multimedia production, the Digital Education Service (DES) has a clear vision to empower the University and its partners to provide high quality, professional and educationally robust digital learning, in support of the University’s Strategic Plan. Online learning provides an opportunity to share the University’s recognised excellence in learning and teaching with a wider international audience, making this an attractive feature for current and potential students, as well as staff and partner organisations.
The Director of Digital Learning’s role also involves leadership and oversight of a number of digital education systems in use across the University, and leads projects to implement new digital education systems which support student education.
If you thrive on working in a fast paced, creative and innovative environment, where your ability to navigate political and organisational issues are as well developed as your skills in project management, this is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference in a world-class organisation.
You will apply your experience of project management for the benefit of the Digital Education Service’s portfolio of digital learning course development projects and / or supporting development and delivery of new digital education systems. You will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control and transition of a number of high profile projects, ensuring consistency with the Service’s strategy and change management approach.
You will need to develop an ability to balance priorities, deal with complex academic and financial information, together with the ability to work consultatively with others in order to succeed. Working with limited supervision, the ability to organise and work to key milestones will be critical to the success of the role.
