Job Details
Job Purpose
To assist in research (by carrying out data collection or analyses) to create knowledge through providing research support for projects and research groups.
Person Specification
- A Master’s degree in epidemiology or health research methods or medical statistics or Public Health
- Practical experience of conducting research using large primary care database such as CPRD and THIN or secondary care databases
- Knowledge of epidemiological study designs and primary and secondary care data formats (e.g. READ codes and ICD 10 codes)
- Ability to group READ codes and analyse primary care data and communicate findings effectively
- Ability to operate and work on statistical software such as STATA, SPSS and R
- Ability to perform univariate and multivariate analysis utilising large primary care and secondary care data
- Ability to work with relational databases and non-relational databases for research purposes
- Ability to conduct systematic reviews on clinical questions and methodological questions
- Ability to access and organise resources successfully
