Are you a well organised and adaptable individual with strong and effective people management skills and excellent communication skills? Do you want to lead a team committed to supporting student education practices and delivering an exceptional student experience? 

This role will be responsible for managing an effective Student Education Service within the School of Geography and The Institute for Transport Studies, supporting School, Faculty and University strategic plans. To achieve this the post holder will quickly establish good working relationships with key stakeholders across the two Schools, working closely with the Faculty Education Service Manager, the School Directors of Student Education and the Pro Dean for Student Education to deliver and implement consistent high quality student education administration which underpins strategic plans. 

With strong and effective people management skills, the post holder will lead a team of staff who across the Faculty deliver student support, exams and assessment, quality assurance and programme support. You will ensure student education processes and practices are managed effectively, delivered consistently and to agreed quality standards across the two schools. You will support continuous process improvement for both the Faculty and the University’s student education practices and processes.

You will work collaboratively with other members of the Student Education Management Team as led by the Faculty Education Service Manager to ensure staff resources are managed across the faculty and to set key priorities. You will contribute to Faculty level plans and functional projects within Student Education. The Faculty encourages collaborative working between schools, functions and other services, facilitating good communication, building positive working relationships, sharing good practice and encouraging knowledge exchange to embed continuous improvement in all student education processes.
