    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. Comprised of five schools and a number of disciplines, research centres and institutes, the faculty is focused on education excellence and innovative research in the health sciences.

    The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) which sits within the School of Public Health, is a complex, international research and development agency with over 40 staff in its headquarters in Adelaide and more than 1500 researchers located in collaborating centres in UK, Europe, USA, Canada, the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, New Zealand and Australia.  With almost 80 Centres and groups, servicing over 90 countries, the Joanna Briggs Institute is a recognised global leader in evidence-based healthcare.

    In this role, you will be involved in the development, maintenance and support relating to information technology within the Institute.  The position includes developing and maintaining platforms and systems on which the JBI online tools and resources are accessible to healthcare professionals worldwide and taking part in IT projects and infrastructure within the Institute. This is a multi-faceted position, delivering projects of significant sizes and complexity across a variety of technology domains.

     

    Salary  (HEO7) $83,105 to $93,231 per annum.

    Superannuation An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.

    Term of position This fixed-term contract is available immediately until December 2018.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Extensive experience in a corporate level environment supporting multiple storage, operating system platforms with current knowledge of  IT trends in server and storage
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate between IT and the broader organisation objectives and stakeholders
    • Senior knowledge of IT infrastructure
    • Development experience with proven practical and working (up to date) knowledge at a senior level in: Java, JavaScript and JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, Angular JS), SQL, Agile/Test Driven Development, Version Control (eg. Subversion, Git)
