    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. Comprised of five schools and a number of disciplines, research centres and institutes, the faculty is focused on education excellence and innovative research in the health sciences.

    The Adelaide Nursing School was established in collaboration with the Royal Adelaide Hospital and promotes world-class nursing practice through excellence in student-centred teaching. Nursing is a practice discipline which is humanistic in nature and has a fundamental responsibility to promote health, prevent illness, restore wellness and alleviate suffering. The school is made up of an energetic, enthusiastic group of nursing clinicians and academics interested in furthering nursing as a practice. Teaching focuses on improving the health of individuals and communities through nursing knowledge and advanced nursing practice. The school's research concentrates on the experiences of health and illness, the practice of nursing and the effects of nursing practice on health outcomes. The school offers a nurturing environment in which staff and students are able to reach their individual potential. 

    As a Lecturer (Level B) Academic, you will have the qualifications and experience recognised by the university as appropriate for this discipline area.  A position at this level will require a doctoral or masters’ qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.

     

    Salary:

    (Level B) $94,135 - $111,788 per annum

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply

    Term of position: These are continuing positions and are available immediately (Full time and/or Part time)

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations and workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
    • Demonstrated experience in course coordination and the management of teaching and learning resources and staffing, including experience in the development of innovative teaching methods and curriculum
    • Demonstrated understanding to provide and advocate research in the specialist field.
    • A demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues in nursing, education and healthcare.
    • High level of organisational skills, attention to detail and flexibility.

     

    Desirable

    • A strong background in mental health nursing.
    • Registration (or eligibility for) with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
    • Postgraduate qualifications of at least Graduate Diploma or equivalent level within Mental Health / Community Nursing.
