The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a vibrant, multidisciplinary School with extensive teaching and research programs covering the fields of Geology, Geography, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety Sciences and Planning.

 

The role

The successful appointee will work on a Queensland Government funded project aimed at evaluating environmental offset policies, led by Associate Professor Jonathan Rhodes. The primary purpose of the role will be developing spatial models of land-use change and environmental offsets to evaluate alternative policy options.    

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in conservation science, environmental management, spatial sciences, economics, or related discipline. You should have excellent quantitative skills in spatial modelling and programming and a strong general research and communication skills. Experience working with end-users of research and in multidisciplinary teams is also desirable.

The University of Queensland values diversity and inclusion. This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time fixed term appointment, for 10 months at Academic level A . The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.80 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95, 408.58 - $102416.1 p.a.).
