Job Details

The School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (SPAIS) in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Chair in Sociology. We wish to appoint an exceptional candidate with expertise and an international profile in one of the following fields: the sociology of gender and especially gender and the family; digital sociology; sociology of work; or economic sociology. However, strong applications in Sociology, broadly cast, are welcome and will be given serious consideration.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding academic/research leadership skills, a track-record of grant-funded successful research and high-quality research outputs, as well as showing a commitment to and interest in impact-related/public engagement activities. A strong profile of engaged and innovative teaching in the candidate’s area of expertise is also a requirement of this post.
