Do you want to contribute to a better understanding of the role embedded researchers can play in producing useful knowledge? Are you a qualitative researcher with experience of reviewing knowledge mobilisation-related literature?

You will join an NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research funded project studying the role of embedded researchers in co-producing useful knowledge with those working in the NHS. You will use your expertise to undertake a critical narrative literature review of embedded research and knowledge co-production.   • Planning, managing and carrying out a narrative review of the theoretical and empirical literature on embedded research and knowledge co-production (including contributing to the development and implementation of novel approaches to literature searching and synthesis);
  • Contributing to the identification of embedded research initiatives across the UK and to the design and implementation of qualitative research on these initiatives;
  • Planning and contributing to a co-design workshop with project stakeholders (to include presenting the results of the research and contributing to the production of a practical framework of design options for embedded research initiatives);
  • Communicating research results through publication or other recognised forms of output;
  • Preparing papers for publication in leading international journals and independently writing reports;
  • Liaising with the project team in relation to project progress, and ethics bodies regarding compliance with research governance, data protection and ethical requirements;
  • Maintaining good communications and information flow with all project partners and stakeholders, including the University, NHS and other external organisations;
  • Developing and participating in networks to promote the project and the contribution it can make to applied health research within the University, region, nationally and internationally and to identify opportunities for future collaboration;
  • Maintaining your own continuing professional development and acting as a mentor to less experienced colleagues as appropriate;

These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post. You will report to Dr Vicky Ward, Associate Professor in Knowledge Mobilisation.
