Insights Analytics Specialist

Summary: Accountable to the Area Manager for delivery of insights to Merck and PerkinElmer for analysis and decision making in support cost savings and operational efficiency objectives. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive the analysis, recommendations, and cost savings validation discussions with Merck that are subject to the Asset Genius utilization gain share agreement that is being negotiated
• Assure the connectivity status of the Asset Genius connected systems.
• Work with the Merck/PKI Lab Computing team to address configuration issues that result in systems not reporting Asset Genius utilization
• Identify assets that are affecting downtime due to high repair rates; Provide Root Cause Analysis to mitigate these situations
• Standardize Asset list with respect to inconsistencies around nomenclature: Mfg – Model – Description, etc. as per the OneSource standardization tables
• Analyze KPI and Census and Density reports and provide recommendations for improvement and or problem areas
• Meeting with various customers to ensure users are able to understand how the OneSource program operates and impacts their goals.
• Leverage the OneSource Analytics capabilities and other data sources to drive reductions in service frequency. This may involve:
  • Proposed Changes to PerkinElmer service model
  • Proposed Customer behavior changes
  • Proposed New or updated customer SOP’s
  • Proposed Customer training
• Support broader OneSource innovation initiatives to improve lab optimization and reduce cost
• Drive Laboratory Optimization opportunities using Asset Genius and other Analytics Tools in the following areas
  • Instrument Capital Spend Reductions
    • Based on instrument load balancing and identification of instruments exhibiting low utilization that can be retired
  • Condition based maintenance
    • Identification of systems that have excessive PM’s based on utilization and systems that have insufficient PM’s based on utilization
  • Accelerated instrument disposition
    • Through identification of underutilized and older systems
• Support quarterly project level reporting
• Support bi-annual executive level reporting
• Support additional project related continuous improvement initiatives
