Job Details

The awards are in the subject area of “Environmental Policy, Climate Change Agreements, Governance and Environmental Performance”. There has been a considerable amount of global environmental agreements, policies, regulations and acts that have been aimed at managing climate change by improving environmental (carbon) performance through observable reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The recent Paris climate accord/agreement is an epitome of these reforms. However, the extent which the objectives inherent within the global climate change and management agreements can be achieved is arguably contingent on the extent to which owners, managers, directors and executives of public corporations, especially large multinational corporations are willing to engage with the expectations such agreements. Using a global sample of firms and quantitative data relating to climate change agreements, environmental (GHG) policies and environmental (carbon) performance  that will be collected from public databases, such as DataStream, CSMAR, WRDS, Asset4 and KLD, this project will examine the relationship among climate change agreements, corporate environmental policies, governance structures, executive compensation, firm value and environmental performance.
