Department: International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) Workload: 100% IBSS Reports to: Dean of IBSS Closing date for receipt of applications: Feb 25th 2018   For enquiries, please contact Professor Jean Chen, Dean, International Business School (Email: jean.chen@xjtlu.edu.cn).   Role overview In accordance with the mission and values of IBSS and in support of the strategic aims of the school, the Senior Business Development Specialist for Executive Education is responsible for achieving of the school’s commercial executive education targets. As the role holder, you will be responsible for the commercial success of a suite of open and tailored executive training programmes. You will work closely with both academic and professional support team to generate executive training programme and assist the School’s Director of Planning and Engagement to run those programmes. You are also responsible for dealing with general enquiries.   Role responsibilities

1.  Be responsible for identifying and generating executive training programmes;

2.  Conduct executive education market analysis;

3.  Build and maintain a corporate network through regular attendance of corporate and social networking events;

4.  Be responsible for direct client communications, operational issues, and compliance on client deliverables;

5.  Build network with potential clients and explore their need for executive education;

6.  Prepare proposals for executive training opportunities;

7.  Ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, and report to the Dean of IBSS and School’s Director of Planning and Engagement of any problems that may arise;

8.  Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed at high standards;

9.  Report to the School’s Director of Planning and Engagement on all account activity, including status and call reports on a regular basis;

10.Work with the marketing team to prepare promotion campaign that meets the needs of our target market;

11.Present IBSS Executive Education value proposition to potential clients;

12.Be responsible for regular reporting and forecasting of executive education programmes;

13.Undertake administrative tasks required;

14.Undertake any other duties assigned by the School’s Director of Planning and Engagement.

 

Person Specification   Essential

Experience 
  • Five years’ experience in a service organisation working in the field of sales/business development
  • Experience in managing the entire sales funnel from pre-sales until the post-sales phase
  • Experience of devising market plan
  • Experience of leading successful training projects and organising events
  • Experience in marketing
  • Experience in executive education
  • Budgetary management experience
  • Experience of operating effectively within a University
Education, qualifications and training
  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • MBA or equivalent degree
  • Professional qualification
General and specialist knowledge
  • Awareness of cultural diversity within an international environment
  • Preparing and delivering client presentations
  • Practical knowledge of the Customer Relations Management system

  • Strong sales skills with the ability to close larger offerings
  • Fluent in English, and in Mandarin Chinese
